This rug is made from soft hemp fibres which are spun together and woven in a chunky knit design on a heavy cotton base. Hemp is one of the fastest growing plants that makes suitable fibres for rugs and clothes and it has a low environmental impact. The hemp fibres are softened and dyed then twisted in to chunky braids about 4cm in diameter. Then they are skillfully attached to the cotton base to make these beautiful rugs. They feel lovely and soft and cool under foot. The rug is slightly shiny and durable too, so you can expect your rug to last for many years. The hemp fibres have a slight sheen, so always look fantastic and fresh.
