Felt Pebble Rugs are made from felted New Zealand wool. The felted wool is dyed in a number of different colours for different lengths of time. Some colours permeate the thick felt deeper than others so that when the felt is cut, it reveals different shades with the end result resembling pebbles on a beach and sometimes a colourful beach. These rugs are thick, soft and comfortable underfoot. Being wool, they are naturally stain and dirt resistant. These are high quality rugs that will last for many years. This rug is made from loads of felted strands, which are about 2cm thick. They are attached to a sturdy cotton base then all folded up to face the same way, so they look like pebbles. This is the strong and durable way to make a rug like this. It is not a load of felt balls stitched together without a strong base. The rug feels thick and soft underfoot.
